Hand Built so well that 60+ years later, the tin toy is in Excellent condition and in full working order as it was originally designed and made to operate. The propellers have all been replaced with flexible replicas, and look and work great. The electronic and mechanical features operate flawlessly and faithfully each time the on/off switch on the wing is pushed on. The cycle begins with the red beacon on top of the fuselage flashing on/off and the inboard propellers spinning, followed by the outboard propellers spinning, then with all propellers spinning the wheels engage and the airplane taxies forward in the direction to which the nose wheel is turned. The airplane will taxi a while and then come to a stop.
When the airplane stops the outboard propellers stop, followed by the inboard propellers stopping, and finally the aft side door opens while the litho pictures of passengers (on the port side windows) disappear (presumably to get up out of their seats to leave the aircraft), and the 3 dimensional tin stewardess (Betty), bright tin litho with no typical rust or missing litho, appears at the door all the while the beacon continues flashing. Finally, The propellers start up in reverse order while the stewardess retreats inside and the door closes and the sequence repeats until the switch is turned off. The tin litho details are bright, crisp and clean. This magnificent tin litho battery operated airplane is in Excellent Condition and fully functional. 60+ year old tin toy.
